BUCKS COUNTY RETREAT
We partially gutted this home and reprogrammed its interior. A bathroom with a lavish stall shower which gave the bathroom more space, as did the addition of a pocket door. The opening up of the kitchen/dining area with a study permits fluid circulation through the interior. An existing stone wall was exposed and creates a interesting back splash for the kitchen as well as anchoring the large open space. To give the cottage a roomier feel, we removed the existing low ceilings and clad the existing gable shape in painted pine ship-lap. The structure’s livable space was expanded substantially by installing french doors along the perimeter which connect the newly created exterior “rooms” at each side of the home. A sundeck for lounging with large in ground pool is on side and at the other side is a patio for grilling and dining.
