PARK SLOPE TOWNHOUSE
This townhouse is located in the landmarked district of Park Slope, Brooklyn. The renovated kitchen includes a large working island. Cabinet details were derived from the room's restored wood-paneled wainscot. The original double hung windows were replaced with large glass French doors that connect to the deck and allow additional light to flood into the north facing room. A dramatic calacutta range hood is at the center of the cabinet wall and is flanked on each side with a glass and floor to ceiling cabinets. The stone counter continues uninterrupted beneath the integrated induction cook top and bends upward to the ceiling. The stones beautiful veining is visible through the open back and glass door cabinets. A hidden pantry is cleverly hidden where an exterior door once stood. Cabinet interiors and exterior doors were stained to match the original wainscot. New air-conditioning and heating units were located in the cabinets soffit. The house retains much of its restored details with the insertion a modern aesthetic.
