MENDHAM GREEK REVIVAL
Nestled into a wooded hillside, this home can see far but is hidden from the rest of the world. The tradition of Greek Revival Style is strong in Morris County, New Jersey . This vernacular inspired the gabled ends and porticos while allowing for generously proportioned windows. Every room maximizes views, livability, detail and design. Great thought was given to the positioning of the homes to maximize views, solar orientation, passive ventilation and to afford desired privacy. This energy efficient, sunny home takes advantage of cross ventilation and beautiful views with large double paned windows. We turned the potential liability of a steep hill behind the home into a feature with exposed rock face with private dining area. Interior rooms flow into each other and radiate from the open center stair allowing easier supervision of small children and plenty of room for family gatherings. Interior transoms, paneled walls, beamed ceilings, and built-in cabinetry give the home's interior a modern and fresh style.
