Predesign We will discuss the aesthetic you are trying to achieve, budget and program. A through building and/or site survey will be conducted and this information will be transferred into the computer so that the design process may begin. A preliminary zoning code review will take place to ascertain the possibilities of the site.
Schematic Design (SD) and Design Development (DD) Time to start designing. Broad strokes outline the basic rooms and how they are impacted by the site’s natural features. Once everyone has a general sense of the layout and how it interplays with the land, we move on to more detailed drawings. We discuss materials. The aesthetics of the finished project start to come into view.
Construction Documents Going from (DD) to (CD) Here is the bridge between design and the actual building. It is a time of intensive communication as we make sure all parties involved have a complete understanding of the project. From one-on-one conversations to the construction documents themselves, this is the time it all becomes real.
Construction Administration Throughout the course of any project questions arise and there is no better way to achieve the desired results than to answer them directly. Our role overseeing and working collaboratively with all parties involved in your project is not something we take cavalierly.
